I wonder what Jack would think of goldmining today! Allan Bond tried to buy up all the claims in the golden mile in 1980 but failed, so the local owners grabbed his idea and created a co-op. Thus we have a hole that is currently 3.6km long, 1.34km wide and  350 metres deep so far. Incase you are impressed that I am doing numbers Pa is calling them out.
