In my eyes this guy is huge but in the mining industry he is human. This bucket holds 60 tonnes of ore and the trucks that look like mozzies in the opencut hold 225 tonnes of ore and have to grundle up to the top of the hole that is 350 metres deep. Who wants to be a truck in this opencut! I would rather be Jack's off sider.
We spent the day in Kalgoorlie and sorry I forgot to use the right camera.
We found it a town that is a work in progress. The industrial area can only spell mining but there are amazing buildings everywhere being restored at what we believe would be great expense next to very modern establishments. We were surprised by the lack of tourists and crossing the road is a challenge if there is a white 4x4 ute anywhere on the horizon.
Heading south tomorrow into Peak Charles NP so will have no coverage. Enjoy the break!M
