Last night we went to the Desert Garden for a torch light walk around their enclosure with a zoologist. ( Sorry photos not allowed )  It was quite magical. We saw Bilby with their cute big pink ears and nose as well as Mara - these are very tiny rock wallaby that are extinct outside captivity. The enclosure is about five acres from memory and full of quite amazing little creatures. We both loved it.
We did the garden walk last year and I saw birds I would struggle to see in the wild.
I believe it is the major feature Alice has to offer.  That is a big call!!

We also visited the old goal and the Women's Hall of Fame. I could have spent a full day there carefully reading the stories of all the women who came out here with their men to settle and raise families.

Fascinated by the Botanical Gardens and Miss Pink who devoted forty years to developing them as well as fighting for the rights of the indigenous people of the area.
